Panoramaweg Mühlenbach / Black Forest
a promising, very beautiful path above the small village of Mühlenbach. You can take a break at the pavilion and enjoy the view. You can walk the whole way (9.4 km / 450 m altitude) or part of it. It starts in the Bärenbach (park at the parish car park), just follow the signs to the Panoramaweg. You can stop off at the rustic Gasthaus zum Ochsen in the town center
Neu-Falkenstein and Vogelberg ruins in the Thal Nature Park in the Swiss Jura:
a picturesque landscape with rugged cliffs, meadows, fields and lots of nature. From the Neu-Falkenstein castle ruins in Balsthal you have a great view of the area. The castle ruins themselves are well preserved and well worth seeing. From the castle ruins you can walk the Holzweg, a beautiful circular route through the forest with some wooden attractions. We continue to the Vogelberg, from which one has a wonderful view of the Swiss Alps. In the Vogelberg mountain restaurant you can sit in the beer garden with a view (the röstis are delicious). A number of hiking trails start here, too; you can drive to the restaurant or start from further down.
Halwiller See and Halwiller Wasserschloss in the Swiss Aargau:
a very beautiful lake is the Halwiller See, which you can hike around on a bank path on foot (approx. 4 hours). The Halwiller moated castle is very impressive and behind the castle a turquoise watercourse leads to the lake. There are beautiful bathing spots everywhere. A very idyllic area! The hotel on the Eichberg is beautifully located and has a reasonable price-performance ratio.
Hike on the Bürgenstock near Lucerne (Switzerland)
I can only recommend a breathtaking hike on the Bürgenstock above Lake Lucerne. It starts from the parking lot just in front of the Hotel Villa Honegg. Follow the small path uphill and walk the Felsenweg towards the Hammetschwand lift. The path is really impressive and the views can hardly be described. Back via the Bürgenstock Resort to the parking lot. Approx. 1.5 hours, incline only at the beginning but not dramatic.
Panorama trail on the Schliffkopf (Black Forest)
The panorama path on the Schliffkopf is picturesque, with great vegetation and views of the mountains. It is best to park in the car park north of the hotel and walk to the Steinmäuerle viewing platform, here you have a great view. Continue on the Panoramaweg, follow the Schliffkopf sign in the forest and walk up the forest path and then follow the Panoramaweg right back to the parking lot (approx. 5 km, small incline). You can also walk the entire Schliffkopfrundweg (7 km) or just the panorama path.
Hike to the Buchkopfturm and Renchtalhütte / Black Forest
From the Zuflucht car park above Oppenau, a beautiful high-altitude hiking trail leads to the Buchkopfturm and on to the Renchtalhütte. From the Buchkopfrum you have breathtaking views and the Renchtalhütte is very beautiful, rustic with a great outdoor terrace. Approx. 1 hour each way (from the Renchtalhütte back to the parking lot Zuflucht it is longer uphill)
Vesperweg Oberharmersbach / Black Forest
A wonderful and promising hike begins at the nature trail parking lot in Oberharmersbach. Just follow the signs "Vesperweg". (14.3 km approx. 400 m altitude). You pass huge benches, a hammock and a large frame, as well as a walk-in wine barrel right at the beginning of the path, where you can fortify yourself with farmer's sausage, bread and drinks and take it with you as a picnic. The hike is particularly beautiful during the flowering period in April / May and in autumn. A number of shorter hiking trails start from the parking lot, hiking descriptions below.
Moosturm and Lothardenkmal / Black Forest
The views from the Moosturm and Lothardenkmal are unique, especially when the view is clear. The shortest route starts from the hiking car park near the Höhenhotel Kalikutt above Oppenau (approx. 4 km past the hotel). There are various routes there, the direct route is green (7 km there and back, approx. 290 meters in altitude). The path is quite difficult uphill, but there are always beautiful views and it's worth it. The Lothardenkmal is a memorial after hurricane "Lothar" of 1999. It looks very impressive. You can eat deliciously in the Höhenhotel and Restaurant Kalikutt.
Around Sasbachwalden / Black Forest
Sasbachwalden is very idyllic and consists almost entirely of half-timbered houses. You have a great view from Brigittenschloss (walk up from Brandmatt near Haus Tiller, not far, approx. 3.5 km there and back). The forest is beautiful and so is the view of the Rhine plain and the Vosges. Furthermore, a hike through the Gaishöll waterfalls is mystical and very refreshing in summer. Many bridges and stairs lead through the narrow gorge. The wine trail also offers great views of the idyllic area.
The Edelgraugrab waterfalls and Benzmühle in Ottenhöfen / Black Forest
very beautiful, idyllic waterfalls in the forest (a kind of gorge in small). You can wonderfully hike through the gorge and enjoy nature. Then a snack in the imaginatively designed Benzmühle with lots of animals, funny signs and a great beer garden.
A stop at the Rainbauermühle at the entrance to the village should not be missed!
Hiking trail Allerheiligen waterfalls and monastery ruins / Black Forest
The All Saints waterfalls are impressive, on the way there you can walk right next to the waterfalls on a path and stairs to the ruins of the monastery. The path runs through an idyllic forest with majestic trees. Shortly before the monastery ruin, the "Sagenweg" branches off to the left; you can walk this path back to the parking lot. It leads past several very beautiful vantage points (be sure to pay attention to the junctions and walk up for a short while, the view is worthwhile). Walking time approx. 2 hours, no special effort.
